Take an Easy Ride on Flex

Flex is now running on its fall/winter schedule - Monday through Saturday - from 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 p.m, until June 20, 2010

Ride Flex in seven towns: Brewster, Eastham, Harwich, Orleans, Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet. Enjoy our compact buses with clean running engines.

Flag the Flex

Now:  Flag the Flex - Where it's Safe!

You can now flag down the bus or be dropped off at any safe point along the route. From the side of the road, simply wave to the driver with enough time for the bus to stop safely. There's one exception: flagging is not permitted anywhere along Route 6 - for safety reasons.

What is Flex?

Flex is really two types of bus service in one:
  1. The bus follows a defined route, picking up and dropping off passengers at designated stops.
  2. The bus will also "flex" off its route. The driver will re-route the bus to locations within 3/4 of a mile of its usual route when a passenger has made a reservation in advance.
There are two types of bus stops in the schedule:
  1. Flex will always serve Main Stops, usually within five minutes of schedule either way.
  2. Flex will stop at In-Between Stops when a passenger is waiting or asks to be dropped off. The bus's arrival at and departure from In-Between Stops will vary, arriving within five minutes before or after the scheduled stop time. So it's best to arrive at an In-Between Stop early, ideally at the time shown for the previous Main Stop.
  • All Flex buses are accessible to people with disabilities and others with limited mobility.
  • All Flex buses have bike racks but space is limited.
  • Only service animals are allowed to board.
